Harry Winston Jewelry

After the form of our previous post about ear Harry Winston, is the story a little more about Winston.

The House of Harry Winston jewelers is one of the most famous, luxurious and prestigious in the world.

Named after its founder, who was born in 1896, and perhaps most famous for being the last private owner of the Hope Diamond, Winston was also the first person to jewelry to actresses fabulous Academy Awards in 1944.

He disappeared after the death of Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette, but 44 carat deep blue diamond surface some 30 years later. Almost certainly the same stone. It was bought by a banker named Henry Thomas Hope, who gave his wife. His wife ran after another man, and hopefully sold to fend off bankruptcy, reinforcing the legend of the curse.

In 1958, he gave hope to the Smithsonian Museum, sent by ordinary mail, in a single package. Over the years, he donated more gems at the Smithsonian, they would one day meeting in Winston Gallery of the Smithsonian.
